Twas the Night Before Surgery...

...when all through the house...two ladies were stirring...getting a little soused (gotta have that last glass of wine before I am back on my regimen of pain meds).

I am ready to fight Battle #2!
1) Mental preparation: I've spent the last week or so stockpiling fun, fun and more fun (because let's be honest, brain surgery and the ensuing recovery isn't a picnic). To be safe, I've been partying like a rockstar:

  • Hosting 'Girls Night' with former co-workers
  • Cheering for the Red Wings at the Joe!
  • Attending the President's Ball at DGC (check out the new purple dress on the right)
  • Dining out for breakfasts, lunches and dinners! (photo below with my dear friend Debbie was taken on our way out to lunch at Cafe Via in Birmingham)

2) Physical preparation: I have been resting AND making sure I am getting some exercise. Like my crazy daughter, I took up Crossfit and after 4 weeks enthusiastically echo her love for the WOD, a.k.a. "workout of the day". My back squat and pull-ups are looking great!

3) Spiritual preparation: I feel incredibly blessed for all the masses, candle lightings and individual prayers that have been dedicated on my behalf. Furthermore, my lucky rosaries are packed and ready to go (I am hopeful that Keith and Melissa will be less rusty when we pray the rosary this time).

Surgery is scheduled to commence at 8am and could take 4-5 hours. Keith and Melissa will post to the blog as they have updates to report. KMA!
